Welcome To The First Day Of School!
We are very happy for the school year to get started and the
first day has gone very well. Here is a photo from the first day. One of the
highlights of the day was the teachers putting on a show and singing
"Welcome To The First Day Of School!" to the whole elementary group.
At the end of the song many of the children joined in. At the end of the
performance and the photo session, Spencer said, “When does the show start?”
Look back at the blog for more photos soon.
Be sure to take a look at the Elementary environment on the
Main and 2nd floors. I am very proud of all the hard work that the
teachers have done to prepare for this special year. Be sure to thank them—they
deserve it! The classrooms will continue to develop as the year progresses so
be sure to keep coming back.
WCEnvelopes: Take them home every Wednesday-Return them on
Thursday
Be sure to sign and date them. It is so helpful when you do
this regularly and reliably. And Yes! Take them home even when they are empty
because who knows?...There may be an assignment in the Strawberry Star that you
need to return in the envelope. See below…
What Kind Of Year Do We Want To Create?
In the main floor entryway a display is developing about the
above question. All the Elementary teachers have answered this important
question. We invite you to share your answer with us. Put your answer (on 8.5 x
11 paper) in your WC Envelope or email it to rjohnson@katherinemichielsschool.org.
Label All Personal Items
We work hard to get the Kinders to be in charge of their
personal items. It helps a lot when you label all items-even socks! Be sure
your child puts his or her things away in the cubby-especially shoes-so they
can be found when needed. Thanks!
